DMSO freezes at about 19°C, so it may be solid in a cool room. That’s normal: warm it gently to room temperature and it will melt again without any harm.

Working with DMSO solution
Measure with a glass or polypropylene pipette, not polystyrene, since some solvents soften certain plastics. Add the solvent to your weighed compound a little at a time and mix until it’s fully dissolved before topping up to the final volume.
Wear nitrile gloves. DMSO can carry anything dissolved in it through skin, including contaminants on the glove surface.
Storage and safety
Keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Label any solution you make with the compound, concentration, solvent and date. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
