Description
Our PEG 400 solvent comes in a 60mL bottle for $9.99. PEG 400 is polyethylene glycol with an average molecular weight of 380 to 420 (CAS 25322-68-3). It’s a clear, slightly thick liquid that mixes with water and dissolves many compounds that water alone won’t.
It’s one of the most common vehicles for making up research solutions, and it’s the base of our original SARM liquids. It’s part of our reconstitution and solvent range.
What is PEG 400 solvent?
PEG 400 is polyethylene glycol with an average molecular weight of 380 to 420 (CAS 25322-68-3). It’s a clear, slightly thick liquid that mixes with water and dissolves many compounds that water alone won’t.
PEG 400 has low toxicity in standard lab use and very little smell. It’s hygroscopic, meaning it pulls water from the air, so keep the cap on.

Working with PEG 400 solvent
Measure with a glass or polypropylene pipette, not polystyrene, since some solvents soften certain plastics. Add the solvent to your weighed compound a little at a time and mix until it’s fully dissolved before topping up to the final volume.
Warming PEG 400 slightly makes it thinner and easier to pipette accurately.
Storage and safety
Keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Label any solution you make with the compound, concentration, solvent and date. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
Common questions about PEG 400 solvent
Is it pure?
Each batch is tested to 99% purity or higher.
What’s the best way to measure it?
Use a graduated pipette. Our 1mL and 2mL transfer pipettes are marked along the side.

Where the PEG 400 solvent fits in your workflow
Solvents like this are the starting point for making up your own research solutions from powder. You weigh the compound, add part of the solvent, mix until dissolved, then top up to the final volume in a glass bottle. Having a pure, consistent solvent means one less variable when you compare results between batches.
Tips for using the PEG 400 solvent
- Pour what you need into a separate container, and don’t pipette straight from the stock bottle.
- Keep a note of which solvent batch you used for each solution.
- Close the bottle straight away to keep out moisture and dust.
Does it go off?
Kept sealed in a cool, dark place it’s stable for a long time. Replace it if it changes color or smell.
