Umbrella Labs BPC-157: formats, research and storage

BPC-157 is one of the most requested research peptides at Umbrella Labs, and it comes in more forms than almost anything else we sell. This guide covers what BPC-157 is, what the published research says, which Umbrella Labs BPC-157 format suits which kind of study, and how to store it once it arrives.

What is BPC-157?

BPC-157 is a 15-amino-acid peptide based on a fragment of body protection compound, a protein first found in gastric juice. Its CAS number is 137525-51-0 and its molecular weight is about 1419.5. It’s a synthetic peptide, made by solid-phase synthesis, and it’s sold as a freeze-dried powder.

It isn’t an approved drug in the US or Europe, and it’s on the WADA prohibited list. At Umbrella Labs, as with everything we sell, BPC-157 is for laboratory research use only.

What the published research on BPC-157 covers

Most of the BPC-157 literature comes from Predrag Sikiric’s group at the University of Zagreb. Their rodent studies report faster healing of tendon, ligament, muscle and gut injuries. Mikus and colleagues described improved burn wound healing in mice, and Chang and colleagues reported in 2011 that BPC-157 raised growth hormone receptor expression in rat tendon fibroblasts.

The important caveat is that almost all of this work is in animals and cells. Controlled human data are very limited. You can read the original papers on PubMed.

Umbrella Labs BPC-157 formats

We sell BPC-157 in five forms, so you can match the format to your method instead of the other way round.

BPC-157 peptide vial

The BPC-157 peptide vial is the standard format, available in 5mg and 10mg sizes from $48.99. It’s freeze-dried, which keeps it stable until you reconstitute it, and you set the concentration by how much bacteriostatic water you add.

BPC-157 nasal spray

The BPC-157 nasal spray comes already in solution in a metered spray bottle, so there’s nothing to mix. Each full press gives roughly the same volume.

BPC-157 capsules and liposomal liquid

BPC-157 capsules hold a fixed amount in each capsule, and the BPC-157 liposomal liquid wraps the peptide in lipid spheres. Both suit oral research models.

BPC-157 blends

If your protocol pairs BPC-157 with another peptide, a blend puts both in one vial at a fixed ratio. Umbrella Labs stocks the BPC-157 and TB-500 blend, BPC-157 and KPV capsules, the TB-500, BPC-157 and KPV blend and the GLOW blend with GHK-Cu. Every blend page lists the exact amount of each peptide.

How to reconstitute and store Umbrella Labs BPC-157

Freeze-dried BPC-157 needs bacteriostatic water. Let the water run slowly down the inside of the vial, then swirl gently until it’s clear. Adding 2mL of water to a 5mg vial gives 2.5mg per mL. Our peptide reconstitution guide covers each step.

Keep BPC-157 in the fridge at 2 to 8°C and don’t freeze it. Once mixed, use it within a few weeks, and label the vial with the concentration and date.

How Umbrella Labs tests BPC-157

Every batch of BPC-157 is tested by LC-MS, and the current batch tests at 99% purity or higher. The lab testing page explains what that figure means.

Which Umbrella Labs BPC-157 format to choose

If you’re unsure, start with the vial. It’s the format used in most published BPC-157 studies, it lets you set your own concentration, and unmixed vials keep for a long time in the fridge. Pick the nasal spray if you want nothing to mix and a consistent volume per press. Pick capsules or the liposomal liquid if your study uses oral administration. Pick a blend only if your protocol always pairs BPC-157 with the same second peptide at the same ratio.

Whatever you choose, keep every sample in a study from the same batch where you can, and write the batch number into your records.
