Description

The MitoQ liquid from Umbrella Labs gives you MitoQ as a measured liquid solution. Each batch is tested by LC-MS to 99% purity or higher. It’s $89.99. It’s sold for laboratory research only.

What is MitoQ?

MitoQ (mitoquinone mesylate) is CoQ10’s ubiquinone attached to a triphenylphosphonium cation. The cation pulls it into mitochondria.

It was developed in New Zealand.

Research on MitoQ

Rossman and colleagues reported improved arterial function in older adults in 2018.

A Parkinson’s trial didn’t show a benefit.

The triphenylphosphonium cation is drawn into mitochondria by their negative membrane charge.

You can find the papers on PubMed. We don’t make claims beyond what that literature reports.

How to use the MitoQ liquid

The liquid form saves you the work of dissolving powder. MitoQ is already in solution at 20mg/mL, so every millilitre holds the same amount. A 1mL draw gives you 20mg.

Use a clean graduated pipette or dropper for each draw so nothing goes back into the bottle. Shake gently first, because some solutions settle over time. We stock transfer pipettes and dropper bottles if you need them.

Making working dilutions of MitoQ

If your protocol calls for a lower concentration, dilute a measured volume into a clean glass bottle. For example, 1mL of the 20mg/mL solution plus 1mL of carrier gives 2mL at 10mg/mL. Use the same carrier where possible, or a solvent your protocol allows, and mix gently.

Make up only what you’ll use in the short term, and label the new bottle with the concentration and date.

Purity testing for MitoQ

We test each batch of MitoQ by LC-MS, which pairs liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry. The chromatography splits the sample into its components and the mass spectrometer identifies them, which tells you both identity and purity. This batch came in at 99% or higher.

Small differences between batches are normal, so write the batch number from the label into your records. If something looks wrong when your order arrives, like discoloured powder or a cloudy solution, set it aside and don’t use it.

Storing your MitoQ

Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the cap tight so the solution doesn’t evaporate or pick up contaminants. Label anything you decant with the compound, amount and date, and keep it out of reach of children and pets.
