What is N-acetyl KPV?
N-acetyl KPV (Ac-KPV-NH2) is KPV with an acetyl group on one end and an amide on the other. Capping both ends is a common way to make short peptides last longer against enzymes.
The core sequence, lysine-proline-valine, comes from the end of alpha-MSH.

What studies say about N-acetyl KPV
Published work is on the parent KPV, such as Dalmasso and colleagues’ 2008 Gastroenterology paper on mouse colitis.
The capped version is studied as a more stable form of the same peptide.
The original papers are on PubMed if you’d like to read them in full.
Why choose N-acetyl KPV capsules
Each capsule holds a fixed, measured amount of N-acetyl KPV (500mcg), so there’s nothing to weigh out. For studies that need the same amount every time, that’s the main advantage over loose powder.
If you need amounts that don’t match the capsule size, the powder is more flexible, because you can weigh exactly what each sample needs and make up your own solutions or capsules at whatever strength your protocol calls for. Capsules are best for repeat work where the amount doesn’t change. Keep the lid tight, since moisture is the main thing that degrades capsule contents.
Planning a study with N-acetyl KPV capsules
Work out how many capsules your study needs before you order. Multiply the number of subjects by the number of administrations per subject, then add a few spare for losses. With 60 capsules in a bottle, that tells you straight away how many bottles to buy.
Keep all the capsules for one study from the same batch where you can. It removes batch-to-batch variation from your results.
N-acetyl KPV quality and testing
We test each batch of N-acetyl KPV by LC-MS, which pairs liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry. The chromatography splits the sample into its components and the mass spectrometer identifies them, which tells you both identity and purity. This batch came in at 99% or higher.
Small differences between batches are normal, so write the batch number from the label into your records. If something looks wrong when your order arrives, like discoloured powder or a cloudy solution, set it aside and don’t use it.
Storing your N-acetyl KPV
Keep it in the fridge at 2 to 8°C and don’t freeze it. Keep the desiccant in the bottle and the lid closed tight. Label anything you decant with the compound, amount and date, and keep it out of reach of children and pets.
Common questions about the N-acetyl KPV capsules
How many capsules are in a bottle?
See the amount listed above (60 x 500mcg). Every one is filled to the same amount.
Can I open the capsules?
Yes, if your protocol calls for it. Do it on clean weighing paper so you don’t lose any powder.
Is the N-acetyl KPV capsules in stock?
Yes. Every option on this page is in stock and ready to ship.
