What is SNAP-8?
SNAP-8 (acetyl octapeptide-3) is an eight-amino-acid peptide that extends argireline by two amino acids. Like argireline, it mimics the end of SNAP-25, a protein needed to release acetylcholine at nerve endings.
It’s used in cosmetic research on expression lines.

SNAP-8 in published research
The manufacturer reports reduced wrinkle depth in small volunteer studies and stronger activity than argireline in cell assays.
Independent peer-reviewed data are limited.

Reconstituting SNAP-8 for research
The vial holds SNAP-8 as a dry, freeze-dried cake. To use it, dissolve it in bacteriostatic water, letting it run slowly down the side of the glass so it doesn’t hit the powder directly. Swirl or roll the vial until it’s clear. Shaking can damage peptides, so skip it.
The amount of water you add sets the concentration. For example, adding 2mL of bacteriostatic water to a 5mg vial gives 2.5mg per mL. Write the volume and the date on the label so anyone picking up the vial later knows what’s in it.
We sell bacteriostatic water in 30mL vials, and acetic acid solution for the few peptides that don’t dissolve well in water.
Choosing a SNAP-8 vial size
The vial comes in 10mg and 5mg. The contents are the same apart from the amount, so the choice comes down to how much your study needs and how quickly you’ll use a mixed vial.
Mixed peptides don’t last as long as dry ones, so several smaller vials can work out better than one large one if you’re running a slow study.
SNAP-8 quality and testing
Every batch of SNAP-8 is checked with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) before it goes on sale. LC-MS separates a sample into its parts and identifies each one by mass, so it confirms what the compound is and how much of the sample it makes up. The current batch tested at 99% or higher.
Small differences between batches are normal, so write the batch number from the label into your records. If something looks wrong when your order arrives, like discoloured powder or a cloudy solution, set it aside and don’t use it.
Storing your SNAP-8
Keep it in the fridge at 2 to 8°C and don’t freeze it. Once mixed, keep the vial in the fridge and use it within a few weeks. Unmixed vials keep much longer, so only reconstitute what you need. Label anything you decant with the compound, amount and date, and keep it out of reach of children and pets.
Common questions about the SNAP-8 peptide vial
Does SNAP-8 come with water to mix it?
No. The vial holds only the freeze-dried powder. Add bacteriostatic water to your order if you don’t already have some.
How long does mixed SNAP-8 last?
Kept in the fridge, most reconstituted peptides are good for a few weeks. Unmixed vials last much longer, especially in the fridge or freezer.
Is the SNAP-8 peptide vial in stock?
Yes. Every option on this page is in stock and ready to ship.
