What is Tropisetron?
Tropisetron is a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist approved in some countries to prevent chemotherapy nausea. It’s also a partial agonist at alpha7 nicotinic receptors.
That second action is why it shows up in cognition research.

How to use the Tropisetron liquid
The liquid form saves you the work of dissolving powder. Tropisetron is already in solution at 20mg/mL, so every millilitre holds the same amount. A 1mL draw gives you 20mg.
Use a clean graduated pipette or dropper for each draw so nothing goes back into the bottle. Shake gently first, because some solutions settle over time. We stock transfer pipettes and dropper bottles if you need them.
Making working dilutions of Tropisetron
If your protocol calls for a lower concentration, dilute a measured volume into a clean glass bottle. For example, 1mL of the 20mg/mL solution plus 1mL of carrier gives 2mL at 10mg/mL. Use the same carrier where possible, or a solvent your protocol allows, and mix gently.
Make up only what you’ll use in the short term, and label the new bottle with the concentration and date.
Purity testing for Tropisetron
Every batch of Tropisetron is checked with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) before it goes on sale. LC-MS separates a sample into its parts and identifies each one by mass, so it confirms what the compound is and how much of the sample it makes up. The current batch tested at 99% or higher.
Small differences between batches are normal, so write the batch number from the label into your records. If something looks wrong when your order arrives, like discoloured powder or a cloudy solution, set it aside and don’t use it.
