What is 7,8-DHF?
7,8-Dihydroxyflavone is a natural flavone that activates TrkB, the receptor for BDNF. The catechol group on the A ring is needed for that activity.
It’s one of the best-known small-molecule TrkB agonists.

What studies say about 7,8-DHF
Jang and colleagues reported in PNAS (2010) that 7,8-DHF activated TrkB in mouse brain and protected neurons.
Later rodent studies covered memory, mood and Alzheimer’s models.

Making working dilutions of 7,8-DHF
If your protocol calls for a lower concentration, dilute a measured volume into a clean glass bottle. For example, 1mL of the 10mg/mL solution plus 1mL of carrier gives 2mL at 5mg/mL. Use the same carrier where possible, or a solvent your protocol allows, and mix gently.
Make up only what you’ll use in the short term, and label the new bottle with the concentration and date.
