What is Idebenone?
Idebenone is a synthetic analog of coenzyme Q10 with a shorter tail, first developed by Takeda. It can carry electrons past complex I in the mitochondrial chain.

What studies say about Idebenone
Klopstock and colleagues reported in Brain (2011) on the RHODOS trial, which showed a trend toward better vision in LHON.
Earlier trials in Alzheimer’s disease didn’t show a clear effect.
