What is Ostarine?
Ostarine (MK-2866, also called enobosarm or GTx-024) is a nonsteroidal SARM first developed by GTx Inc. It binds the androgen receptor, but its structure isn’t based on testosterone, and in lab models it acts mainly on muscle and bone with much less activity in tissues like the prostate.
It’s the most studied compound in its class. Ostarine went through several human trials, yet it has never been approved as a medicine anywhere, and it sits on the WADA prohibited list.

What studies say about Ostarine
The best-known study is a phase 2 trial by Dobs and colleagues, published in The Lancet Oncology in 2013. It tested enobosarm in 159 patients with cancer-related muscle wasting and reported increases in lean body mass compared with placebo.
Earlier rodent work showed that ostarine binds the androgen receptor with high affinity and builds muscle and bone tissue with little effect on prostate weight. That tissue selectivity is why it’s still a reference compound in SARM research.

Choosing a size and carrier for Ostarine liquid
Both bottle sizes hold the same 25mg/mL solution, so the only difference is how much you get. With the PEG (original) carrier, 30mL costs $70.99 and 60mL costs $140.98. The 30mL bottle is the cheaper way to try the format before you commit to a larger one.
You can choose between PEG (original) and Poly-Cell™. Pick one carrier and stay with it for a whole study, because switching halfway through adds a variable you’d have to account for.

Making working dilutions of Ostarine
If your protocol calls for a lower concentration, dilute a measured volume into a clean glass bottle. For example, 1mL of the 25mg/mL solution plus 1mL of carrier gives 2mL at 12.5mg/mL. Use the same carrier where possible, or a solvent your protocol allows, and mix gently.
Make up only what you’ll use in the short term, and label the new bottle with the concentration and date.
How we test Ostarine
We test each batch of Ostarine by LC-MS, which pairs liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry. The chromatography splits the sample into its components and the mass spectrometer identifies them, which tells you both identity and purity. This batch came in at 99% or higher.
Small differences between batches are normal, so write the batch number from the label into your records. If something looks wrong when your order arrives, like discoloured powder or a cloudy solution, set it aside and don’t use it.

Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the cap tight, and don’t leave the bottle in a hot car or on a sunny windowsill. Label anything you decant with the compound, amount and date, and keep it out of reach of children and pets.
