What is S-23?
S-23 is a nonsteroidal SARM from the same research group at the University of Tennessee that worked on andarine. It binds the androgen receptor with very high affinity.
It was studied mainly as a possible male hormonal contraceptive and has never been tested in human trials.

Research on S-23
Jones and colleagues published the main study in Endocrinology in 2009. In male rats, S-23 combined with estradiol suppressed sperm production reversibly while keeping muscle mass and bone density.
Once the compound was stopped, fertility returned in the rats, which is why the paper framed it as a contraceptive candidate.

Weighing and handling S-23 powder
Buying S-23 as a powder gives you full control. Weigh out exactly what your protocol calls for, make up your own solutions, or encapsulate it yourself.
For small amounts you’ll want a scale that reads to at least 0.01g, and ideally 0.001g. Our digital scale and micro scoops make it easier to get consistent measurements. Weigh onto clean weighing paper, and close the bag or jar straight after so the powder doesn’t pick up moisture.
Making a solution from S-23 powder
To make a stock solution, decide on the final volume and concentration first. For 30mL at 10mg/mL you’d weigh 300mg of S-23, dissolve it in about 25mL of solvent, then top up to exactly 30mL.
Check the compound’s solubility in your chosen solvent before you start, and try a small test amount first. Store the finished solution in a labelled glass bottle.
S-23 quality and testing
We test each batch of S-23 by LC-MS, which pairs liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry. The chromatography splits the sample into its components and the mass spectrometer identifies them, which tells you both identity and purity. This batch came in at 99% or higher.
Small differences between batches are normal, so write the batch number from the label into your records. If something looks wrong when your order arrives, like discoloured powder or a cloudy solution, set it aside and don’t use it.
How to store S-23
Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use a clean, dry scoop each time, and reseal the container straight away. Label anything you decant with the compound, amount and date, and keep it out of reach of children and pets.
