What is Humanin HNG?
HNG is a version of humanin with one amino acid swapped (glycine for serine at position 14). That single change makes it far more potent than humanin in cell assays.
It’s the form most often used in animal studies of humanin.

Research on Humanin HNG
Muzumdar and colleagues reported that HNG improved insulin action in rats, and the same group later found it reduced heart damage after ischemia in mice.
Studies are limited to cells and animals.

Reconstituting Humanin HNG for research
The vial holds Humanin HNG as a dry, freeze-dried cake. To use it, dissolve it in bacteriostatic water, letting it run slowly down the side of the glass so it doesn’t hit the powder directly. Swirl or roll the vial until it’s clear. Shaking can damage peptides, so skip it.
The amount of water you add sets the concentration. For example, adding 2mL of bacteriostatic water to a 5mg vial gives 2.5mg per mL. Write the volume and the date on the label so anyone picking up the vial later knows what’s in it.

How we test Humanin HNG
We test each batch of Humanin HNG by LC-MS, which pairs liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry. The chromatography splits the sample into its components and the mass spectrometer identifies them, which tells you both identity and purity. This batch came in at 99% or higher.
Small differences between batches are normal, so write the batch number from the label into your records. If something looks wrong when your order arrives, like discoloured powder or a cloudy solution, set it aside and don’t use it.
Storage and handling
Keep it in the fridge at 2 to 8°C and don’t freeze it. Once mixed, keep the vial in the fridge and use it within a few weeks. Unmixed vials keep much longer, so only reconstitute what you need. Label anything you decant with the compound, amount and date, and keep it out of reach of children and pets.
